A big black eye was recently awarded to grass fed lamb and beef by being declared by the Environmental Working Group as having the "worst environmental impact" for their significant amount of green house gas emissions. Not only was red meat listed as the worst, but grass fed beef and lamb were clearly spelled out, with grass fed lamb estimated to produce 50 percent more GHG than grass fed beef per kg consumed.

"Meat Eater's Guide to Climate Change and Health," subtitled "Meat: Eat Less, Eat Greener," is a publication created by the Environmental Working Group in collaboration with "Cleanmetrics."

Comparing 20 different foods in all, the publication compares' cradle to grave 'net green house emissions from all the most common sources of meat, dairy, and fish to plant protein sources.
